iNTRODUCING hERB sENNETT
Herb Sennett is true baby-boomer and a Vietnam War veteran, serving as an infantry lieutenant from April 1969 to March 1970. Since the military was not part of his future, he trained to be a teacher—a career that he worked at until he enrolled in seminary and graduated 1978. He served as a pastor for six years yet felt that he still needed to teach, not preach. After seminary, he joined the Army Reserves as a Chaplain serving a total of 30 years in the military reserves.
In 1985, he moved to West Palm Beach to teach at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Then 1996, he began teaching at Louisiana College, another Baptist college, while pursuing a Ph.D. at Louisiana State University. After returning to Florida, he taught speech communications at Palm Beach State College until his retirement in 2016. Herb has earned the following college degrees: B.S.E., M.A., M.Div., D.Min., M.F.A., Ph.D. Herb enjoys writing and has published six books and fifteen professional journal articles. His first novel was based on the Biblical story from the Old Testament, titled The Reluctant General. It is about the story of Deborah in the Book of Judges. He is also active in Toastmasters, The Military Officers Association of America, and The American Legion. He is an active member of Family Church of West Palm Beach. He has been married for 57 years and has two children and one grand-child. |
