MEET HERB SENNETT
The best thing that can be said about Herb Sennett is that he has a special talent for inspiring the best in people. He gained the title "The Encouragement Doctor" while teaching the basic speech class in college. His way of teaching and critiquing students was so positive and encouraging that the students rated him among the best teachers on campus.
He is probably one of the happiest people you will ever meet. And that happiness is genuine because he's that way all the time. He had a successful career teaching in college retiring in 2016 after nearly forty years. He was also a part-time soldier serving in the army reserves for 28 years as a chaplain endorsed by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Announcing the Release of Herb Sennett's new Book!!
A Most Unusual Relationship traces the lives of two men from totally different backgrounds who were able to set aside their differences to serve effectively as chaplains in the US Army Reserves, a vastly different environment than the full-time military.
Each person had major responsibilities to the military as well as the larger religious community of each man's faith. Plus, the politics of the time demanded activity and support that differed for each of them. Yet, that professional relationship turned into a serious friendship that lasted for forty years.
Alan Sherman, a Reform Rabbi with a strong “liberal” Democrat political viewpoint, received his commission in the Army after graduating Rabbinical School.
